Do it Again

Cathryn   -

My head was buried in books and my computer all last weekend
as I worked to meet a May 1st deadline.
When I finally emerged from the haze and the brain fog that came with it,
I noticed that God had been even busier in the world outside my front door
than He had been inside my head!

My iris have started blooming,
my peonies are about a week away from bursting out of their buds
and my carnations, which I ~ based on years of previous experience~
seriously doubted were actually the perennials they are purported to be,
have started showing their color.

Creation is exploding with the lovely, undeniable testimony of God’s continued
love of, participation in and desire for
the world around us to continuously reflect
all that He found “very good” in the beginning.

In his letter to the Romans, the Apostle Paul wrote
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. (Romans 1:20)

The Creator’s grace and love and power and magnificence and delight
are reflected in that which He creates.
God still wants to be known through His creation!

I love that God is both Artist and Master Gardener;
though all of Creation is God’s Masterpiece,
it is not something He finished and put on display
as if it were a stagnate object for admirers to appreciate . . .
or insult, as the case may be.

On the contrary, God tends to it in the present as lovingly as He did in the beginning.

No. 4: Creation by A New Liturgy is a wonderful 25ish minute audio devotion that you ~
and your kids~ could enjoy any time of day.
My favorite part of the devotion is a reflection called “Do It Again”

and because it never fails to make my heart smile so big
to ponder what the author suggests,
I pass it on to you for your joyful consideration:

“It is possible that God says every morning “do it again!” to the sun
and every evening “do it again!” to the moon.
It may not be automatic necessity that makes all daisies alike.
It may be that God makes every daisy separately
but has never got tired of making them.”
