Cold Weather Shelter 2023
Another Cold Weather Shelter week is in the books. Thank you to all who cooked and assembled meals, delivered food to the Extended Stay hotel or served meals to the guests. We had a tremendous response from the congregation to cover all of the needs of the shelter.
Pastor Dawn served meals a couple nights, and connected with some of the guests, She was able to provide some assistance to a young woman to cover her phone bill and introduced another guest to Bethany’s online food pantry. What a blessing to meet the specific needs of the guests.
Bethany volunteers included veterans who’ve worked at CWS for many years since the beginning when Wendell Thompson was in charge, and many individuals and families who participated for the first time. Several were glad to have an opportunity to serve with their children. Many of our GIFT groups banded together to prepare the evening meals as well.
