Christmastime at Bethany

This Advent season at Bethany, we invite you to join us for The Light We Almost Missed—a meaningful journey inspired by Tim Keller’s Hidden Christmas. Keller reminds us that the Incarnation reveals God’s redemptive light entering the world quietly, humbly, and unexpectedly—hidden in plain sight.

Each week, we’ll uncover a different way we might overlook that light: by searching in the wrong places, resisting divine disruption, dismissing imperfect people, or underestimating the power of humility.

Come walk this Advent journey with us as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Christ—the Light who meets us where we are and transforms the darkness with hope and grace.

Christmas Eve Services

2 pm Family. This is our family service where all ages worship together and lead the service together. Children, Youth and Grown-ups are all hard at work even now rehearsing a special Christmas pageant and practicing scripture readings and prayers. We will sing Christmas carols together and have a child-friendly candle-lighting.

4 PM Traditional. This service is known for a variety of music offerings. It will not only feature the chancel choir, but also includes handbell selections, special vocalists, violin, cello, and organ. We will also celebrate with an uplifting rendition of “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and candlelighting to “Silent Night”.

6 pm Contemporary. This service features our Praise Band and a more contemporary style to the service overall with a higher energy. Christmas Eve usually has more traditional elements in general with the Lighting of the Christ candle and the Christmas blessing and those will be included in this service as well as the closing with Silent night and candle lighting.

11 pm Traditional (Chapel).  This is a traditional service with scripture, carols, music, communion, and candle lighting.
