A Message from Bishop LaTrelle Easterling on United to Love: Praying our Way Forward

On March 2, following the Special Session of General Conference (February 23-26), Bishop LaTrelle Easterling will lead the people of the Baltimore-Washington Conference in a time of prayer and information sharing.

Conference staff and leaders will gather at the Mission Center in Fulton and the event will be live streamed at www.bwcumc.org to sites around the conference. Bethany UMC is one of the locations that will live stream the event and we invite you to join us from 9AM – 12PM in Fellowship Hall. You are also welcome to watch in the comfort of your own home. Questions may be submitted during the event via text message and through e-mail. Those details will be announced during the live stream.

Shrove Pancake Breakfast

We will serve a pancake breakfast in Fellowship Hall after every service that day beginning at 9 a.m. with an expected clean up around 12 noon. A free-will offering with a suggested donation of $5 per person will be taken with proceeds going to missions. Work As Worship

On February 22, hundreds of local and international churches will host the second annual Work as Worship Retreat live-stream event. The Retreat will bring together thousands of Christian business professionals from around the world to hear speakers like Jon Acuff (New York Times Best Selling Author), Steve Green (President of Hobby Lobby), and Megan Alexander (Correspondent at Inside Edition) explore the sacred connection between faith and work.

For Christians who also happen to be business professionals, faith and work don’t often intersect. The connection between faith and work is not always obvious, but it is a God-given calling to make them connect. What if all Christians saw work as something holy?
