Cold Weather Shelter

Hosted by Bethany UMC January 21 – 29

The Cold Weather Shelter (CWS) – a partnership between Grassroots, the faith community and the Howard County Government – serves homeless individuals and families during the winter. From November through March, congregations host the program in their facilities from 6PM to 7AM and provide transportation, meals, overnight accommodations, laundry and shower services, and fellowship to guests. Most importantly, through our actions we share the love of Christ.

We Need Volunteers!

If you have not volunteered for Cold Weather Shelter before, please give it a try! There are scores of opportunities for helping hands to provide a comfortable, welcoming place for our guests and it’s a rewarding experience of outreach and fellowship.
