Centennial Park

Do you know or care for someone with Dementia? Have you lost someone to Dementia? Do you have a heart for Dementia and Alzheimer’s? Bethany United Methodist Church has started a team and needs your support. There are many ways to help support The Walk to End Alzheimer’s:

  1. Spread the word about Alzheimer’s and the walk.
  2. Register and make a donation.
  3. Register as a team member, walk and raise money for research efforts.
  4. Volunteer to hand out goodies to walkers on-site.

Bethany UMC and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are supporting the 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This is part of our partnership with the Day to Serve initiative taking place throughout Maryland. We have a team walking, there are sponsor opportunities AND we are now looking for 20 volunteers to help serve goodies to walkers before they head around Centennial Lake.

Volunteer timeslot for handing out goodies is 8:00AM – 11:00AM.  Meeting location will be Centennial Park.  All ages are welcome to volunteer.  Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.  Further instructions will be provided once the volunteer crew is coordinated with meeting instructions.

Any of the above would make a huge difference in the battle to end this disease. This is a great opportunity for all of us to show partnership … faith communities serving others!

Please join us.

If you wish to initiate additional fundraising efforts within Bethany to promote participation your assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Questions? Contact Kathy Wehr.
