Bethany is part of the Ellicott City Parish which includes Emory United Methodist Church. The Ellicott City Parish was formed to enhance and increase the effort to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, to improve the quantity and quality of ministries to the community and to maximize the stewardship of the abundance God has granted to the Ellicott City Parish. Each church maintains its own administrative, financial and legal responsibilities and obligations under the guidance of the pastors. However, each church contributes to mutual ministries and projects as each is able.
On these pages you'll find contact information for our staff, an overview of Bethany's history, links to newsletters, directions to the church, parking information, and our inclement weather policy.

There is also a small parking lot with handicapped access to our main sanctuary. This area has a covered drive and is ideal for people in wheelchairs or folks who find stairs or a ramp difficult. The entrance to this lot is off Bethany Lane between the main entrance and Postwick Road .
Inclement Weather Policy
If Howard County Public Schools are cancelled, then all church activities for that day/and or evening are also cancelled.
Sunday morning worship services will almost always be held, even if a few inches of snow has fallen. If snow falls on Saturday or into Sunday morning, the contract with our snow removal company requires them to clear our parking lot by 8 am on Sunday.
If services are being held, Sunday school classes will be held as well. We may need to combine classes, but we will have Sunday school that day.
Sunday services will be cancelled only if the snow is not going to be able to be cleared, or if icy conditions make it dangerous to come to church.
If church services are to be cancelled, the website home page will be changed by 7 a.m. that morning. You may also call our church answering machine after 7 a.m. Call the church office at 410-465-2919 and press #9 (directions and times of services).
